“Calm down!” I yelled pulling on the reins. The horse came to a striking stop. I heard a loud scream and I looked back. Suddenly, I realized Elise had taken a tumbling fall to the ground. Then, I imminently jumped off the horse and scurried over to her. I helped her get to her feet, right away I could tell she had her breath knocked out of her. I desperately tried to help her on the horse, but failed.
I was trying to push her up on the horse , but she fell right on top of me. Crashing towards the ground, I heard running. Suddenly, I sat up and looked around, the horse vanished. Then, I jumped to my feet and looked around for the horse. She was nowhere to be seen.
I kept looking around, my eyes suddenly landed on Elise. Shockingly I watched as she struggled to get to her feet , but she managed to stand up. I ran over to her helping her. “The horse ran away..”I said. She looked at me for a couple seconds, “We have to go find her…” she said. We searched for what seemed like hours but was probably just 30 minutes.
Suddenly, we came across a big open field. “There she is!” I whispered. I slowly picked up a handful of grass, opening my hand. “Here girl.” I said slowly approaching her. She gave me a good long stare. It felt like hours before she gave me a kind gentle look of trust.
She slowly walked towards me. She nibbled at the grass laying in the palm of my hand. Not wasting any time, I quickly grabbed the reins. I walked her over to Elise , and we walked home never losing my grip on the reins. Well, at least I learned to never let go of the reins.
